Dr. Michele L. McCarroll is a distinguished research leader, educator, and healthcare strategist with over two decades of experience in clinical research, graduate medical education, and health systems science. She is an adjunct associate professor at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Northeast Ohio Medical University, College of Graduate Studies as well as the Program Director, Fellowship in Academic Medicine - Clinical Education (FAME-E), Executive Education. Dr. McCarroll also serves as an Editorial Board Member for the Journal of Medical Education and Curricular Development.
In her previous roles, Dr. McCarroll served as Chief Research Officer and Professor of Clinical Medicine at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences. There, she championed interprofessional practice and education and co-developed the nationally recognized Master Preceptor Program, funded by a $1.95 million HRSA grant. Her leadership has driven the acquisition of multimillion-dollar grants, the creation of innovative research infrastructures, and the advancement of accreditation across institutions. A certified clinical research professional and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Dr. McCarroll has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, and her work has been featured on National Public Radio’s Morning Edition. Her scholarly focus includes women’s health, health disparities, and evidence-based practice. She has received national recognition for her contributions, including the Virgil E. Collins Diversity Award and a Special U.S. Congressional Recognition for her commitment to equity and innovation in healthcare.
